On July 17th and 18th, the Millennial Mindset Foundation, in partnership with Chef Carol of Chefs With Compassion, had the honor of hosting a heartwarming Mandela Day event.

This two-day celebration was not only a tribute to the indelible legacy of Nelson Mandela but also a heartfelt remembrance of Angel Bokgabo, whose life tragically touched our community in Wattville.

The atmosphere at Bokgabo Park was filled with joyous activities for the children, from exciting games to energetic dancing. To begin each day on a warm note, we treated the children to comforting soup breakfasts, followed by delicious full meals for lunch. Fruits and party packs added an extra touch of delight to make the day even more special.

This extraordinary event’s success was made possible by the unwavering support and contributions of numerous individuals and organizations. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Counsellor Kenny Ranyau, COE Mayor’s office, Mpande Technology, Lucia’s Catering, Dr. Gladys Osuigwe and friends, Bokgabo Foundation, Sparks the Comedian, MGQ Sounds, Nelina at Nelina’s Bottle Store, Poppy’s Tavern, Wattville FBO, Izimbokodo, Wattville CPF, Pnp Northmead, Pastor Allen Mnene, Gogo Ouma Khumalo, S. MAB Training Academy, and Wattville Library Team. Your selflessness and dedication made this event a resounding success.

Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we were able to provide food for nearly 1000 community members. The impact of your contributions will be felt for a long time to come.

To our esteemed attendees, including the Brakpan Youth Crime Prevention Desk and Wattville FM, we cannot thank you enough for joining us and sharing in the warmth of this occasion.

As we commemorate Mandela Day, we are reminded of the power of giving back and coming together as a united community. Each act of kindness, no matter how small, has the potential to make a profound difference in someone’s life.

This blog post is a tribute to the essence of Mandela Day – celebrating the legacy of a great leader while embracing compassion, unity, and the joy of making a positive impact in our community.

Thank you, one and all, for being a part of this meaningful event. Together, we have shown the world the true spirit of Mandela Day.

With heartfelt appreciation,

The Millennial Mindset Team 🧡🧡🧡
